Nicola’s work explores human relationships, connection and experience through the use of embodied line. Combining chaotic lines or textures with geometric constructs; Nicola uses visual tension as a material metaphor within her wearable sculptures and jewellery ranges.

Nicola approaches projects through a methodology that enables her to leap from concept to object; encompassing the written word and mark making before creating her final pieces. Nicola works in sustainably sourced precious metals and stones, utilises a wide range of jewellery making skills and is currently increasing the scale of her silversmithing technique.

As well as creating for exhibition, Nicola works to commission. Fully engaging clients throughout the design process; Nicola crafts bespoke bridal, heirloom or keepsake pieces. Nicola also remodels or repairs existing objects.

Nicola teaches silversmithing courses, tutors privately and is Chair of Alloy.

Nicola holds a First Class Bachelor’s Degree in Contemporary Design Crafts and is currently studying her Master’s Degree in Contemporary Craft. Nicola was awarded with Goldsmith’s Precious Metal Bursary 2015, Craft and Design magazine’s ‘one to watch’ and partook in BBC2’s ‘All That Glitters’ Season 1.
